Die Progressive Grunge-Band GARGOYL hat mit “Plastic Nothing” einen weiteren Track ihres kommenden und selbstbetitelten Albums veröffentlicht.
Zuvor sind schon die Songs “Wraith” und “Electrical Sickness” erschienen. Zu letzterem sagt Sänger und Gitarrist Luke Roberts: “This song is not meant to be a pleasant experience. There’s a background static of anxiety and depression that seems to linger everywhere in our society. I would like to suggest it’s time we look at these feelings in ourselves and take responsibility for them instead of taking them out on each other or trying to hide from them in all of our distractions.”
Die Drums wurden von Chris Johnson bei God City in Salem und die Saiteninstrumente von Greg Dawson in den BWC Studios in Kingston aufgenommen. Um die Aufnahmen des Gesangs kümmerte sich Luke Roberts in dessen Heimstudio. Das Cover-Artwork stammt von Mark McCoy (u.a. für FULL OF HELL tätig).
GARGOYL wurden Anfang 2018 von Gitarrist Dave Davidson (REVOCATION) und Luke Roberts (AYAHUASCA) gegründet. Weitere Band-Mitglieder sind Bassist Brett Leier (THE WOMB) und Drummer James Knoerl (AVIATIONS). Als Gast-Musiker konnten die Amerikaner zudem Jocelyn Barth (Backing Vocals) und Erik Van Dam (Saxophon) begrüßen.
“Gargoyl” wird am 9. Oktober 2020 via Season of Mist erscheinen.
