Die Thrash Metal-Band TORREFY hat nach dem Video zu “Plague of Empires” und dem Lyric-Video zu “GFYD” mit “Torrn Apart by Machinery” einen weiteren Track von ihrem kommenden Album “Life is Bad” veröffentlicht. Es ist nach “Thrash and Burn” (2014) und “The Infinity Complex” (2016) das dritte Album der Kanadier, die ihren Stil selbst als “Black Speed Death Thrash” beschreiben.
Im Gegensatz zu den vorherigen Alben ist “Life is Bad” kein Konzeptalbum. “Instead, as the album title indicates, it is thematically geared towards the fact that life is pretty brutal”, erklärt die Band. “The songs are emotionally charged and full of diverse themes including an awareness of one´s inescapable mortality, humanity´s unending greed and the desire for conquest and their refusal to learn from their past, to being overrun by a swarm of other worldly, bloodthirsty insects, and being caught in a machine that is perpetually killing you and keeping you alive at the same time.”
“Life is Bad” wurde von Gustavo Valderama in den Electric Flow Studios in Victoria produziert. Das Mastering lag in den Händen von Joel Grind (TOXIC HOLOCAUST).
TORREFY sind die Gitarristen Adam Henry und Ben Gerencser, Bassist Simon Smith, Drummer Daniel Laughy sowie Sänger John Ferguson.
“Life is Bad” von TORREFY wird am 1. Juli 2020 erscheinen.
