Die Brutal Death Metal-Band CORDYCEPS hat nach dem Song “Parasitic Degenerate” mit “Maelstrom of Hypocrisy” ein Lyric-Video von ihrem kommenden Album “Betrayal” veröffentlicht. Mit von der Partie ist dabei Gast-Sänger Mitch Harris (NAPALM DEATH).
“This is a song about not giving up and what you can achieve when you are confronted with adversity”, erklärt die Band.
“Betrayal” ist das erste Album der Band aus Las Vegas, die mit “Black Blood Butchery” (2017) bislang eine EP veröffentlicht hat.
Die zehn Tracks des Albums wurden von Kirk Moll im The Alamo Recording Studio in Las Vegas und von Ryan Wechta im Alchemy Lab Studio aufgenommen. Gemastert wurde das Album von Troy McCosker (u.a. für NE OBLIVISCARIS tätig), während das Cover-Artwork von Santiago Francisco Jaramillo stammt.
Zum Album an sich meint die Band: “This album is the representation of the place the mind can go when confronted with the challenges of depression and anger.”
“Betrayal” von CORDYCEPS wird am 10. April 2020 via Unique Leader erscheinen.
