Die Funeral Doom Metal-Band ESOTERIC hat einen zehn-minütigen Teaser vom Track “Culmination” ihres kommenden Albums “A Pyrrhic Existence” veröffentlicht. Es ist das siebte Album der Briten und folgt dem vor acht Jahren erschienen Album “Paragon of Dissonance” nach.
Zuvor gab es schon einen achteinhalb-minütigen Teaser vom Track “Rotting in Dereliction” und einen zehnminütigen Teaser vom Track “Descent”.
“A Pyrrhic Existence” wurde in den Priory Recording Studios in Birmingham von Sänger und Gitarrist Greg Chandler aufgenommen, der auch die Produktion über hatte. Das Cover-Artwork stammt von Lisa Schubert .

Zum Album meint die Band: “”A Pyrrhic Existence” is an album that deals with some of the darkest sides of the human psyche and the harsh realities of existence. The concepts of the lyrics deal with death, suffering, tragedy, lies and the breakdown of the human psyche. The title is a reference as to how existence can be perceived as something that inflicts so much devastation on the survivor, that it becomes tantamount to defeat. The music is a progression from previous albums, and is of an extremely psychedelic and experimental nature. It can be likened to a vicarious journey through the twisted passages of the broken mind.”
Das neue Album von ESOTERIC wird als Doppel-CD bzw auf drei LPs am 8. November 2019 via Season Of Mist erscheinen.
