Die Heavy Metal / Hard Rock-Band DEAD KOSMONAUT hat mit “Black Tongue Tar” ein Lyric-Video ihres kommenden Albums “Gravitas” veröffentlicht. Es ist nach “Expect Nothing” (2017) das zweite Album der Schweden.
Zur Zusammenstellung des Albums meint Bassist und Bandgründer Mattias Reinholdsson: “When I began the work of putting the album together I knew I had two long songs to fit in as well as the more “regular” length tracks. So I came up with the idea of making “Gravitas” literally an album of two sides – the first more hard rock and the second perhaps more progressive, in that the songs are, perhaps, more adventurous, like IRON MAIDEN´s “Rime of the Ancient Mariner”, say, compared to “2 Minutes To Midnight”. So, the first side is four songs that will hopefully grab the listeners´ attention and lead them to side two with the two long songs. I also realised that I needed a transition between these two long ones, so I came up with the title track.”
Neben Mattias Reinholdsson bestehen DEAD KOSMONAUT aus Sänger Pelle Gustafsson (NIFELHEIM), Drummer und Keyboarder Henrik Johansson, Gitarrist und Keyboarder Fredrik Folkare (UNLEASHED, FIRESPAWN) sowie Gitarrist Pär Fransson.
Weiterhin steuerten Daniel Moilanen (KATATONIA, RUNEMAGICK) und Fredrich Rönnholm ein paar Takte an den Drums bei. Zudem zeigt Mats G. Eriksson auf der Kirchenorgel sein Können und Per Broddesson (YEAR OF THE GOAT) spielte noch zwei Songs auf der Gitarre ein, ehe er die Band verlassen hat.
“Gravitas” von DEAD KOSMONAUT wird am 31. Januar 2020 via High Roller Records erscheinen.
