Here’s what Jon Schaffer says:

”2000 people showed up at the peak of the signing. They had to shut the street down due to the crowd and it was a main street. We signed for around 45 minutes before the entire front of the store was smashed in. The entire front of the store was made of plate glass. 5 people were injured 3 were sent to the hospital in an ambulance with serious wounds. We were lucky as strange as that sounds because someone could have easily been killed. The police came and demanded that we continue signing in fear of a riot ensuing. Hansi and I were in the basement where the floor was completely soaked with these kids blood and signed around 4000 blank sheets of paper. 4 hours later the mob subsided and things became more calm. At that time we had around 300 fans left and decided to sign their cd´s but limited them to two signatures only. In the end we got word from the hospital that the kids were o.k. and would be released that night or the next day. All I can say is thank god no one was killed because it could have happened in that completely out of control situation.” Jon Schaffer (Iced Earth / Demons & Wizards)
