“We are very proud to announce the release of the upcoming NASTY SAVAGE album “Psycho Psycho” through Metal Blade Records in Europe.

The album will be released on Crook´d Records in the States. Metal Blade Records licenses the album for the European territory.

“NASTY SAVAGE is one the most favourite bands of all members of the Metal Blade staff in Europe”, comments a spokesperson of Metal Blade Europe full of enthusiasm. “But apart from that, we wouldn´t have licensed the album if it would suck like so many other reunions did over the years. ‘Psycho Psycho’ smokes and is totally in the tradition of their classic albums “Nasty Savage” and “Indulgence”. We are really psyched to work on such a great album!”

Florida’s NASTY SAVAGE have seen the wars through their 20 years of classic metal mayhem. Selling an estimated 100,000 records with their first three releases alone, this was a band on the rise, well regarded, fans all over the world, in possession of an oddly doomy, somewhat thrashy, highly musical sound all their own. Now the band is back with a bruising, lusty, faithfully grinding record called ‘Psycho Psycho’, back after a 14 year absence, miraculously with 100% of the line-up that made the daunting “Penetration Point” album, in place and ready to smash it up.

The new album contains everything that furiously fed the NASTY SAVAGE mystique through 20 remarkable years. Ronnie’s vocals are deceptively chaotic and squarely dramatic, his words of societal examination almost viciously enunciated, his voice still strong, his clarion scream still soaring. The guitar team of Ben Meyer and David Austin still weave intricate, scale-ridden riffs of a timeless gothic nature. Picture prime Slayer crossed with Fates Warning, and you sort of get the drift of the grim, smothering heavy metal vibe the six-stringers of the band evokes. Add to that the grinding grooves of drummer Curtis Beeson and bassist Richard Bateman, and you have a record of almost ecstatic old school headbanging ability. It is a sound borne of the Florida underground, crossed with old school thrash, spiced with the progressive flair of seasoned players who have absorbed the classics!

‘Psycho Psycho’ features 12 songs in total, including a new version of the demo classic ‘Savage Desire’. And there’s a little nod to Nasty Ronnie’s wrestling connection as well. “We got Chris Jericho to sing on three of the songs on the new album,” reveals Ben. “On “Savage Desire” you’ll notice there’s a different voice there; that’s the song he sung the most on. It’s funny hearing Chris Jericho saying ‘Don’t worry mommy, I’ll be safe and sound.’ How the hell can you get the most bad-ass wrestler saying ‘Don’t worry mommy’?! (laughs).”
