Die Post Black Doom Metal-Band AXIOMA hat mit „Feral Deities“ einen weiteren Track ihres kommenden Albums „Crown“ veröffentlicht. Zuvor hatte das Quartett aus Cleveland bereits den Track „Cult of Moloch“ sowie einen Video-Clip zu „Sacred Killing Machine“ veröffentlicht.
AXIOMA bestehen aus Gitarrist Cyril Blandino (FORGED IN FLAME, Ex-MORGUE), Bassist und Sänger Aaron Dallison (KEELHAUL, Ex-RINGWORM), Drummer Jon Vinson (FORGED IN FLAME) und Gitarrist Justin Meyers (AUREAE CRUCIS). „Crown“ ist das erste Album der 2015 gegründeten Band, die 2016 mit der EP „Opia“ ihren Einstand feierte.
Gitarrist Justin Meyers beschreibt den Stil auf „Crown“ als Genre übergreifend: „Musically the album intertwines dark, doom and death metal structures with haunting soundscapes creating an atmosphere filled with dissonant riffs and complex time-structures.“
In Sachen Lyrics beschäftigen sich AXIOMA mit dem menschlichen Bedürfnis nach Kontrolle. „Lyrically, „Crown“ revolves on the human need to destroy and control with mechanisms like organized religion and corrupt systems of indoctrination. Humanity is a power obsessed virus, an unnatural aberration that kills and enslaves others to survive. From that rough concept we constructed small narratives and song structures that describe the vilest and most base of our needs, the absolute need for control resulting in „Crown”.“
„Crown” wurden in den Where Bad Back Studios in Cleveland aufgenommen und von Dave Johnson (SOULLESS) produziert. Dabei wurde mit „Angel“ auch eine Cover-Version von MASSIVE ATTACK eingespielt.
„Crown“ von AXIOMA wird am 28. Juni 2019 via via Translation Loss Records erscheinen.
