Mit “At the Tyrant´s Behest” hat die Death / Thrash Metal-Band OATH OF CRUELTY einen weiteren Track ihres kommenden Albums “Summary Execution at Dawn” veröffentlicht. Es ist das erste Album der Texaner, die seit ihrer Gründung vor knapp zehn Jahren zwei Demos und eine EP veröffenlicht hatten.
OATH OF CRUELTY-Sänger und Gitarrist Dave Callier führt zum Album aus, dass es “a culmination of spastic, frenetic riffs and urgent blasting energy, punctuated by sadistic, harsh lyrics delivered via barbarous, grating vocals” sei.
Neben Dave Callier (PRETTY LITTLE FLOWER) wird das Trio aus Houston noch von Gitarrist Danny Hiller (ADUMUS, Ex-IMPRECATION) und Drummer Matt Heffner (MORBOSIDAD) gebildet.
“Summary Execution at Dawn” wurde gemeinsam mit Garry Brents (CARA NEIR) bei GAB Recordings in Arlington und Mike BBQ (u.a. für OCEANS OF SLUMBER tätig) im Audio Alive Studio in Spring aufgenommen. Das Mastering lag in den Händen von Dan Randall (u.a. für WITCH VOMIT tätig), während Daniel “Sawblade” Shaw (u.a. für TOXIC HOLOCAUST tätig) für das Cover-Artwork verantwortlich zeichnet.
Das Debütalbum von OATH OF CRUELTY wird am 9. Dezember 2019 via Dark Descent Records erscheinen.
