In wenigen Wochen wird mit “Vortex” das neue Album der Heavy / Speed Metal-Band METALIAN erscheinen. Es ist nach “Wasteland” (2009) und “Midnight Rider” (2017) das dritte Album der Kanadier.
Die mitunter langen Pausen zwischen den Releases erklärt Bandgründer Ian Wilson unter anderem mit diversen Line-Up-Wechseln. Das jetzige Line-Up mit Wilson als Sänger und Gitarrist, Drummer Tony, Gitarrist Simon sowie Bassist Andres Arango (CAUCHEMAR) ist nun aber schon mehrere Jahre stabil.
Nicht zuletzt deshalb ist Wilson vom neuen Album “Vortex” überzeugt: “… I think we´re growing as musicians and as players together, and therefore I think we´re getting better at writing and playing. “Vortex” is probably my favorite but it´s also the freshest, so that makes it more exciting, I suppose. I always tell people who have never heard us that we play classic metal, and usually reference JUDAS PRIEST. Like ´if you like Priest, then you´ll like us´.”
