Mit “Krupinské ohne” wird in einigen Wochen das neue Album der Black Metal-Band MALOKARPATAN erscheinen. Es ist nach “Stridžie dni” (2015) und “Nordkarpatenland” (2017) das dritte Album der Slowaken.
“Krupinské ohne” heißt übersetzt so viel wie die “Feuer von Krupina” und behandelt als Konzeptalbum die historischen und magischen Ereignisse in der Stadt Krupina, wie sie im 17. Jahrhundert stattgefunden haben (sollen). Gitarrist As führt dazu näher aus: “A coven of witches operated here and instilled fear in the area that has eventually led to their fiery deaths upon the pyres of the Catholic Church. Adjusted to the conceptual nature of the album, the music is inspired by the specific mystique and adventurous spirit of ´70s progressive rock albums, while still remaining true to our roots of Iron Curtain-style obscure black/heavy metal.”
Das entsprechende Artwork wurde vom slowakischen Künstler Svjatogor gestaltet. “I wanted to work with Svjatogor already when having the album concept set, as his personal style works wonderfully with the historical topic of the record and gives it a feeling of an old book rediscovered after gathering dust somewhere within lost archives. He perfectly understood the tension between the dreamy idyll of a pastoral world and the sinister, nightside elements of folklore that always lies at the heart of our work”, erklärt As.
Neben Bandmitbegründer As wird die Band aus Bratislava von Gitarrist Juraj Štefanec, Sänger HV, Bassist Peter und Drummer Miroslav gebildet.
Das neue Album von MALOKARPATAN wird am 20. März 2020 via Invictus Productions erscheinen.
