Okay, unser ORPHANAGE-News-Bild können wir allmählich kicken, denn nachdem die Band heute zwei weitere Line-Up-Wechsel in der Band verkündet, sind nur noch die wenigsten Leute auf unserem Foto in der Band. Ja, zwei weitere langjährige Bandmitglieder haben sich dazu entschlossen, die Band zu verlassen: Eric Hoogendoorn (Bass) and Lex Vogelaar (Gitarre). Die Gründe für den Ausstieg sind bei beiden ähnlich: sowohl Eric, als auch Lex wollten persönlich und musikalisch einfach neue Wege gehen. Dennoch wollen sich beide weiterhin ins Songwriting und in die Produktion bei ORPHANAGE einbringen. Und auch was die Auswahl der neuen Bandmitglieder angeht, haben beide ihren Beitrag geleistet. Die neue Besetzung besteht nun aus Guus Eikens (Gitarre – hat bereits seit sechs Jahren die Keyboards in der Band bedient), Remko van der Spek (Bass – von dessen rythmischen Fertigkeiten die Band absolut begeistert ist) und Lasse Delbrügge (Keyboards). Die ersten Shows im neuen Line-Up sind für den Januar 2001 vorgesehen, bis dahin wird die Band noch in der alten Besetzung weitermachen. Als kleine Botschaft lassen ORPHANAGE all ihre Fans folgendes wissen: “Wir haben gesehen, wie ihr bei den neuen Songs ausgerastet seid, macht euch bereit, wie ihr ausrasten werdet, wenn ihr die neuen ORPHANAGE seht!”

ORPHANAGE – NEW ALBUM …… NEW BAND MEMBERS
Only 10 weeks after the release of the new CD “Inside” we’re very sad to announce that two of the longtime Orphanage-members have decided to
leave the band.
Eric Hoogendoorn ( bass guitar) and Lex Vogelaar (guitar) have been of backbone of the band for many years. They shaped the roots of the exciting
musical direction for Orphanage, which back then could only be described by the words “‘Innovative Gregorian Groovy Celtic Doom Death Metal”. Without Eric and Lex Orphanage would not exist and wouldn’t have reached by far their present
status.
Their reasons for leaving the band are quite similar ; both personally and musically they strongly felt that it was time for something new, with a little less pressure and strain that comes along when playing in a professional band
like Orphanage. Both Eric and Lex assured that they will stick very close to the band as consultants from the sideline. In the processes of songwriting, producing and mixing they will undoubtedly still add their professional value to
Orphanage.
With the help of Lex and Eric we found very qualified replacement within 3 weeks, so hereby we proudly present the new (?) members of our
Orphanage-family:
Guus Eikens – guitar
>>> hey, we know this one ! Guus played keyboards for Orphanage for over six years, but originally was a guitar player. The day that his buddy Lex asked him to play keyboards for the band, he saw a great challenge before him, thinking back of the piano-lessons he received when he was a little kid. But this time the challenge is much bigger, because he has to pick up on the unique playing-style of Lex. The first rehearsals blew away all sceptics; a thick wall of staccato riffs, cool polyrhythms and ultra-heavy power chords convinced the rest of the band that this was the ultimate way to go.
Remko van der Spek – bass guitar
>>> this guy’s first impression at the auditions made us believe that there’s no bass-guitarist around with a better timing than Remko ! His understanding and interpretation of the sometimes difficult rhythmic structures in the Orphanage-songs are amazing. He’s 23 years of age and he’s very keen on molding the future sound of Orphanage, both on stage and in songwriting. His
ultra-low-and-heavy sound will give the band the balls and bottom it needs ; his songwriting capabilities will help to make the musical ideas become reality ; his eagerness and ambition will satisfy the fan’s hunger for a next CD !
Lasse Dellbrügge – keyboards
>>> chosen for his arranging and songwriting bilities, Lasse will be of priceless value to Orphanage, because he exactly knows what ultra-heavy music needs in terms of harmony, melody and atmosphere. He’s a Music-Technology student ; his producing talents and skills perfectly fill the needs of a band like Orphanage. With Lasse’s strong influence the band’s sound will evolve into
something new and even more exciting, without losing the original characteristics that made Orphanage what they are today. His love for
METAL will ensure BOMBASTIC, THEATRICAL, EMOTIONAL heavy music of the first grade !
The first shows with a whole new line-up are scheduled for January 2001; until then Eric and Lex are doing the rest of the gigs …… with full devotion !
