Die Death Metal MORTUARY hat mit „The Autophagous Reign“ ihr neues Album angekündigt. Es ist das sechste Album der Franzosen.

„The Autophagous Reign“ wirft einen pessimistischen Blick in eine post-apokalyptische Zukunft: „Humanity has reached a tipping point. For centuries, Mankind has devoured, ingested and dejected the living until it made its own specie enter its final stage with the sixth mass extinction. A total failure of a capitalistic system feeding on resources that can´t be renewed. The ruling few on top of the food chain enslaving the 99%. The destruction of bio-diversity in favor of the industrialized mass destruction. It´s the end of times. Man now devours man ethically and societaly as anthropocene starts to rage. Welcome to our ecological and societal suicide. All hail the Anthropophagous Reign!“

Das neue Album der seit 30 Jahre aktiven Band aus Nancy wurde im polnischen Hertz Studio aufgenommen und dort von den Wieslawski-Brüdern produziert. Auch das Cover-Artwork stammt aus polnischen Händen, als dass dieses von Lukasz Jaszak (u.a. für HELRUNAR tätig) gestaltet wurde.

Um dem angesprochenen 30-Jahr-Jubiläum zu begegnen, gibt es von „The Autophagous Reign“ auch eine limitierte DigiPak-CD mit drei Bonustracks. Diese sind Neuaufnahmen aus den Demo-Tagen von MORTUARY.
