Zirka 80 Prozent des neuen WHILE HEAVEN WEPT-Albums Vast Oceans Lachrymose sind bereits geschrieben und bis in den Mai wollen Tom Phillips und seine Jungs die 100 voll machen. Gleichzeitig ist aber auch schon das Songwriting für Album Nummer 4 namens Fear of Infinity so gut wie abgeschlossen und sobald Vast Oceans Lachrymose fertiggestellt ist, sollen die Aufnahmen beginnen. Laut Phillips hat die Band auf beiden Alben sehr viel experimentiert und hält für ihre Fans eine genrelose Mischung aus Thrash, Doom, Black, US-Metal, Prog, sowie symphonischen und spacigen Elementen bereit, die aber nach wie vor ganz im Sinne des bisherigen Schaffens der Band heavy, emotional und episch ausfallen wird. Zudem markiert das Jahr 2009 das 20-jährige Bestehen der Band und WHILE HEAVEN WEPT arbeiten bereits jetzt an einer ganz besonderen Jubiläumsveröffentlichung.

Just a quick note to give you a status report on WHW here. We´ve completed about 80% of the recording of Vast Oceans Lachrymose and should be done with 100% of the instrumental aspects by May 2006. I´ll have our My Space moderator post some samples after our next rough mix session.
Believe it or not the main hold up (aside from cash) in completing the album is a lack of lyrics, even though most of the vocal melodies are solid. I´m sure once all the instruments are done, the lyrics will reveal themselves too (as per usual).
Also of note is the fact that I´ve just about completed all of the material for the 4th album Fear Of Infinity (only 1/2 of a song remains incomplete), and we will begin recording this as soon as VOL is done.
You will notice a growing diversity on both of these albums as we experiment with different ratios of our existing elements, creating aural journeys that traverse thrash, doom, black, old US metal, prog, symphonic, and space – always heavy, always emotive, always epic, but ultimately genreless. As a band we feel VERY strongly about all of this material, and I´m sure our sincerity and enthusiasm will be apparent on the recordings.
Meanwhile, we´re working on revamping the official website, and that will be re-launched as soon as possible. We´ll keep you posted.
Also, we´re in the process of planning something special for 2009, which will mark the 20th anniversary of WHW. Surely there will be some kind of special release commemorating this semi-rare event in this day and age.
In the meantime, thanks to everyone here for their kind comments and support throughout the years. We do read the page and try to answer any questions/mail sent. However, I should point out that we don´t actually run this page here at this time, rather one of the family handles most updates and adds.
