Die Heavy Metal / Hard Rock-Band SPELL hat mit “Opulent Decay” ein neues Album angekündigt. Es ist nach “The Full Moon Sessions” (2014) und “For None and All” (2016) das dritte Album der Kanadier. Mit einem Video zu “Psychic Death” bei YouTube haben SPELL den ersten Track im Netz geteilt.
“Many bands find their third album the most difficult because they´re trying to recreate what they´ve already done; for us, it gets easier and better every time”, erklärt Bassist und Sänger Cam Mesmer. “As ideas emerged during the writing process, we nurtured them and gave them all the time and care they needed to flourish and bloom.”
Bei den Lyrics ließ sich die Band von Poeten à la Keats, Shelley und Coleridge inspirieren, um ein bestimmtes Konzept herauszuarbeiten. “All of the songs deal with the contrast between opulence and austerity, and the decay that results from imbalance”, sagt Mesmer.
