Die Metalcore / Thrash Metal-Band CONTORTION meldet sich zehn Jahre nach ihrer letzten EP mit einem neuen Album zurück. „The Common Thread“ ist dabei nach „Manipulation of the Mind“ (2004) und „Masterpiece of Domination“ (2008) das dritte Album der US-Amerikaner und wartet mit einer ganzen Reihe von Gast-Musikern auf: etwa Belisario Dimuzio (CATTLE DECAPITATION), Heidi Shepherd (BUTCHER BABIES), Henry Sanchez (BRUJERIA), Brian Sheerin und Matt Wannamaker (MOWER) oder Marcelo Barbosa (ANGRA). Erscheinen wird das Album am 16. Februar 2024.
