The long awaited follow up to Volume 8. I wish I had better news to give you about the progress of the record. Things have been on hold since the holidays. We´ve been waiting to sign this deal with Beyond for over a year now. To make a long, frustrating story short, we need to sign the deal to be able to continue writing the record. Until then it´s just not gonna happen. Sure, I´m working on stuff and Charlie is working on stuff, but until the deal is signed we can´t all get together and work. Why you ask?

We lost a lot of money this summer getting booted from Maximum Rock. Right out of our pockets. Waah, waaah. Anthrax lost money. Oooooh, poor babies. They´ve got it so tough. Play the violins. That´s what some people think. I´ve had people take that attitude with me.
Well, we´re not crying. We´re just trying to do things the right way and not get fucked the way we have for the last two records. It would be heart breaking for us to put our souls on the line again only to have them kicked to the curb. Would you have a kid if you knew it was going to die six months after being born? I know that´s a brutal analogy but this would be strike three. We´re out. I´m being honest with you, my loyal readers, because you deserve to know what it´s like. I don´t need to candy-coat this. It sucks. It´s not 1988 anymore. Nobody gives a fuck about careers, history, song writing, live performance, nothing. It´s all business. It´s the throw it at the wall and see what sticks philosophy. I´m not talking about you, the fans. I know you care. We went over this last year. I´m talking about the business. I´m not going to go off on another The Music Business Sucks rant. Duh. I´m just letting you know that we are covering our asses as best we can so as not to get fucked again. We are treating this as a business. We know our enemy. Better than we would ever want to. And if things go south, we could always start killing people. Just a thought…
We do have two really heavy songs. No lyrics yet but some hellish riffs. If there´s one thing we´re good at it´s holding our nerve. You do the same. This should all make for one pissed off record. Patience.
